What Mox reads from your CV

  • Skills and tools: the technologies, frameworks, languages, and platforms you list.
  • Work experience: your roles, companies, durations, and the responsibilities you describe.
  • Projects: personal, academic, or professional projects with enough detail to ask about.
  • Education: degrees, institutions, specialisations, and notable coursework.
  • Achievements and certifications: awards, publications, recognised credentials.
  • Summary statements: your "about me", career objective, or professional summary.

How that changes the interview

Instead of a generic "tell me about a difficult bug you fixed", Mox might ask "walk me through the rollback you led during the Black Friday outage you mentioned at your last role". Behavioural questions probe the specific situations on your CV. Technical questions calibrate to the stack you actually use. Closing questions can connect to roles or projects you've listed.

The result: practice that feels like an interview at a company that has actually read your resume, because Mox has.

Supported formats

  • PDF: the most common resume format. Text extraction works on virtually any PDF.
  • DOCX: Microsoft Word resumes. Older .doc files aren't supported (save as .docx).
  • Size limit: 8 MB. Most CVs are well under 1 MB.

Scanned image PDFs (no text layer) won't work. Mox needs actual text to read.

What we don't do with your CV

Privacy by default

Your CV is used only to tailor your interview and to produce the report above. We don't sell your data, share it with recruiters, or use it to train AI models. The uploaded file is deleted from our server the moment text extraction finishes. Only the extracted text is saved, to your own account, so you don't have to upload the same CV before every interview.

  • The original file is never stored on our servers; it's deleted right after parsing.
  • The extracted text is saved to your account only: visible to you, and to nobody else.
  • We never sell, share, or sync your CV with any third party.
  • We don't scan for personal contact info to add to mailing lists.
  • You can delete your CV at any time, from the card above or from My Account.

What if I don't have a CV?

Then write one here. The builder walks you through it section by section, starting with your education and projects, and gives you a clean one-page PDF at the end. It is free, and the layout is built to survive the automated screener that reads your CV before any person does.

You can also skip it. Mox will run a generic interview for the role you chose: relevant to the position and your experience level, just without the personalised questions that come from reading your actual background.
