Cookie Policy

Last updated: 19 August 2026
The short version

Moxaim sets no cookies of its own, and uses no advertising or cross-site tracking. We count page views on our own servers, which sets nothing on your device beyond a random label that your browser discards when you close the tab. What we do use is your browser's local storage, to keep you signed in and to let an interrupted assessment resume where it left off. Your CV is not among it: that is held on your account instead. Everything we store locally is listed below, and all of it can be cleared from your browser at any time.

1. Cookies, Local Storage, and the Difference

Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device and that your browser then attaches to every subsequent request to that site. Local storage and session storage also persist data in your browser, but the data is only read when the page's own code asks for it. It is never transmitted automatically.

Moxaim uses local storage and session storage, not cookies. The practical effect is that the items in the table below sit on your device and are sent to us only when a feature actually needs them.

2. Cookies We Set

None. The Moxaim application sets no cookies. Our hosting provider may set operational cookies at the network edge for request routing, load balancing, and abuse protection; these carry no personal data and are not readable by our application code.

3. What We Store on Your Device

Every item below is strictly necessary. Each one exists because a feature you asked for cannot work without it. None of it is used for measurement, profiling, or advertising.

KeyTypePurposeCleared when
sb-<project>-auth-tokenLocal StorageYour sign-in session, set by our authentication provider (Supabase). Holds the access and refresh tokens that keep you logged in between visits. You sign out, or the token expires
moxaim_active_assessmentLocal StorageA snapshot of an assessment in progress (current round, timer, results so far, and the interview transcript), so a reload, crash, or dropped connection doesn't cost you the attempt. An assessment can be paused and resumed, so this survives for as long as the assessment stays open. A copy is mirrored to your account too, which is what lets you continue on another device.Assessment finishes or its 7-day window closes. A run we hold no record of is dropped after 12 hours.
moxaim_round_draft_<…>Local StorageYour in-progress answers within a single round (MCQ selections, discussion drafts) and how much of that round's clock you have used, restored if the round remounts. This one stays in your browser and is never sent to us, so a round left half-finished can only be picked up on the same device. That round is submitted
moxaim_interview_historyLocal StorageA fallback copy of your last 10 interview summaries, used when you are signed out or your account history can't be reached."Clear History" in the app
moxaim_cookie_consentLocal StorageRecords that you have seen and answered this notice, so it isn't shown on every visit. You reset it (see section 6)
auth_intentSession StorageRemembers which page you were heading to so a sign-in redirect returns you there. You close the tab
mox_timingLocal StorageAn optional diagnostic flag for measuring response latency. Off unless you deliberately switch it on; contains no personal data. You clear it manually

4. Your CV Is Not Stored on This Device

ℹ️

Your CV is saved to your account, not to your browser, and is read back when you sign in. Signing out clears it from this device. That means a shared or public computer does not keep your CV after you leave, but it also means the copy on your account persists until you delete it, which you can do at any time with "Remove CV" on your account page. Until 29 July 2026 the CV was kept in local storage instead; any copy left there has been deleted automatically.

5. What We Do Not Use

  • Analytics: no Google Analytics, Hotjar, Mixpanel, PostHog, or any comparable third-party tool. Nothing about your visit is sent to another company. We do count page views on our own servers, so we can see which pages are used. That count records the page address, the site you arrived from, whether your screen is phone-sized, and the time. It sets no cookie, stores no IP address, and keeps no identifier that outlives your browser tab, so it cannot recognise you on a later visit or follow you to any other site.
  • Advertising and targeting: we serve no ads and belong to no ad network.
  • Social tracking pixels: no Meta Pixel, no LinkedIn Insight Tag, no equivalent.
  • Cross-site tracking: we do not follow you to other websites, and we do not fingerprint your device.
  • Third-party fonts and CDNs: the Platform loads no external stylesheets, fonts, or scripts, so no third party sees your visit.

6. Your Choices

Because everything we store is strictly necessary for a feature you have asked for, there is currently nothing optional to switch off. Turning it off would mean not being able to sign in or sit an assessment. You can still review or reset the notice:

If we ever introduce an optional category (analytics being the likely first), we will ask you before it is switched on, rather than opting you in and offering a way out afterwards.

Clearing everything

Clearing your history inside the app covers the items most people care about (to delete your stored CV, use "Remove CV" on your account page). To remove everything held locally, clear site data in your browser:

  • Chrome / Edge: Settings → Privacy and security → Clear browsing data → Cookies and other site data
  • Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data → Clear Data
  • Safari: Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data → Remove

Clearing site data signs you out and permanently deletes any locally held interview history. Your CV and the history saved to your account are unaffected, because they are not stored on this device. See the for how to delete that.

7. Changes to This Policy

If we begin using a new storage mechanism, particularly anything optional such as analytics, we will update this page, revise the "Last updated" date, and re-show the notice so your earlier answer is not carried over to a question you were never asked.
